The Port of Ahuriri has been linked to the development and fortunes of Napier and the Hawkes Bay since earliest days. PORT STORIES: VOICES OF AHURIRI is an ongoing project to record, preserve and share the unique history of the people and community of Ahuriri in its time as a working Port town – focussing on the 1920s-1970s. You can explore personal first-hand stories and accounts of people who grew up and spent their lives here during this time.

If you lived in the Port during this time and want your story included, or have related written memoirs, photos, objects etc that may want included in this exhibition, we would love to hear from you.
